Saving the Bay

In the Philippines, Manila Bay is a natural harbour which serves the Port of Manila (on Luzon). It is strategically located around the capital city of the Philippines.
Manila Bay previously facilitates commerce and trade between the Philippines and its neighbouring countries, becoming the gateway for socio-economic development even prior to Spanish occupation.
It is one f the many tourist spots in the country. However, the infamous Manila Bay need rehabilitation due to tons of trash thatare thrown at it.

Then, a rehabilitation effort, dubbed as the “Battle for Manila Bay,” reinforces a Supreme Court continuing mandamus, which directs 13 government agencies and local governments to rehabilitate the bay.
In Metro Manila, volunteers conducted tree-planting at the Marine Tree Park in Navotas City, while “bakawan (mangrove) warriors” led the clean-up activities using trash boats at the Las Pinas Paranaque Critical Habitat Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA).

There are also hundreds who joined a solidarity walk along Roxas Blvd. Sunday in support of the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Project.
